Farewell

Hey Everybody,

As you all know, Josiah has been looking for a new job for several months. The Lord has answered our prayers (and yours) and he will be starting a new job in January. Unfortunately, the new job is located in Washington so we will be moving in order to take it.

This means that we will no longer be leading the Aloha Community Group. Since our CG only has a few families, it has been decided to fold the group back in to the Hillsboro group that we launched out in August. Since we have taken a break for the holidays, we will just end the group now and begin attending the Hillsboro group when they meet again on January 7.

We have enjoyed learning growing in community with all of you and know that the friendships we have made will not end with this transition. We thank you for all your prayers and will keep you in ours.

In Christ,
The Gettmans

12.24.14

Merry Christmas Everyone!!

Since this Wednesday is Christmas Eve, we will not be getting together for Community Group. Colossae is having two Christmas Eve Services, at 4:00 and 5:15, so maybe we will see one another there.

Our prayer this week and beyond is that we will all remember the greatest gift, the birth of our Lord ans Savior Jesus Christ. He is the reason we have such joy and hope in this season.

God Bless,
The Gettmans

12.10.14

Hey everyone,

This week and next week, we will be doing something a little different for Christmas. We are going to combine with the Hillsboro Community Group and have separate Christmas parties for the men and women.

This week will be the men's party, followed up with the women's party next week. This will allow us reduce the group size for a closer setting.

For the men's party this week, we will be meeting at our place at the normal time. I will provide BBQ ribs for the main entree. (they're Christmas ribs because they're red :) ) Please bring $3 to help cover some of the cost of the ribs. We will also need sides to go with the ribs. Feel free to bring whatever. Please post if you are going to make it so we can have a head count for food.

One more thing: The guys will be having a white elephant gift exchange with a limit of $5. In case you are unfamiliar with this, gifts should be joky/pranky in nature. The funnier or more pointless the better!!!

Sorry for the long post, but looking forward to a great time this week.

11.26.14

Greeting Everyone!!

In light of the holiday this week (Thanksgiving in case you haven't heard :) ), we will not be meeting for Community Group this week. We decided to treat this as collective scattering week for the month of December, since there aren't too many weeks in December that we will get together anyway. Also, Thanksgiving generally provides plenty of interactions with family, friends,  and strangers (shopping, football, etc.). Hopefully we will all take advantage of those opportunities to share Christ with others in whatever ways that we can.

We look forward to seeing you all again on Dec. 3.
